Region: located in the Nagaland foothills region of Assam barely 20 miles from the Myanmar border.
Mangalam Tea Estate is a relatively young tea garden established in 1973 to produce high quality teas from new Assamica hybrids planted very closely together to enhance tip production. Both fine CTC and orthodox leaf types are manufactured. Our Assam Mangalam SFTGFOP1 is a carefully processed tea with large leaves and lots of golden tips.
Leaf: black with even style and a sprinkling of silver and golden tip
Infusion – visual: chocolate brown, broken pieces but bright and even
Infusion – aroma: sweet and fruity – full of fresh tea character
Liquor – visual: bright clear deep red cup. Good colour when milked
Liquor – taste: a typical robust but smooth malty, biscuit taste with a pleasant brisk aftertaste. Eminently drinkable with or without milk.
