Rooibos tea is made from the dried fermented leaves of the South African shrub Aspalathus linearis. Unlike Camellia sinensis, which prefers the humid tropics, Rooibos will only grow in a small hot arid area of the Cape Province of South Africa. Rooibos is claimed to have similar antioxidant benefits to Camellia tea - and is naturally caffeine free. Also known as redbush. Ours is organically grown.
