Also known as Egyptian or Nana mint. Native to the Mediterranean countries and hugely popular on the Continent. Spearmint has a more gentle soothing taste and smell than peppermint. Very refreshing, it aids digestion, and is gentle enough to be given to babies to ease colic. Can also be taken to ease morning sickness, or just for its pleasant flavour. Great served hot or cold over ice.
