The most famous of Fujian provinces three gong fu teas, this tea is produced in Balin village in Fuding County from the Dai Bai cultivar (big white cultivar).
Sigh. There is a tea tasting rule, that the better a tea is the tea is the harder it is to describe and write about. This is one of those teas.
The leaf is brown, broad and rolled on the loose side. The steeped leaves smell like stewed dried fruit.
The liquor is bright and orange brown. With notes of honey, and almonds, it is soft and lingers, and there is no astringency, just the gentle flavours.
