Lavender is a well known garden shrub, known for its purple flowers and aroma. Lavender has been used traditionally as relaxant, and is reputed to have many health benefits, in areas such as digestion, headaches and burns.

It makes delightful brew, with a strong aroma and a gentle drink. Can also be added to other teas for a new twist to old favourites.

Lavender is an amazing herb to add to teas. Most of my visitors think lavender is a very strange thing to have in the tea cupboard but once they have tasted it they are a fan!
It has a strong flavour and is good on its own if you like it. But its also fantastic mixed with other herbs to add a floral tone. You only need a tiny sprinkle to create a great flavour.
It is also really good added to less flavoursome teas like valerian, passionflower or oat straw..
Personally I love it with chamomile and rose at night - its delicate, soothing and delicious.

A surprisingly good tea, which is also great in baking, especially in tea bread if used with respect.
