Grown in the Valley Del Cauca in Western Columbia, this is a large leaf aromatic tea. Twisty dark leaves, give way to a soft aromatics, light body, slightly sweet, volcanic soils, a light touch of char and a gentle astringency that rolls over the mouth at the end. Similar to the lighter Georgian teas.
It is a tea to play with, you can have quite a different experience by brewing the leaf for different times. Shorter times (gong fu style) brings out the complexities of the aromatics, brew it for longer and pulls up the char and the astringency. Making the drinking experience quite different. Will make a good iced tea and would also be good cold brewed. The wet leaves smell amazing.
