This is one of four teas we have sourced from Tumoi Teas in Kenya. Fairly traded teas from a Kenyan cooperative. Tumoi Teas is staffed, managed and owned by by small-scale Kenyan tea farmers in Nandi Hills Kenya. They make Black, Green, Oolong and Purple tea. They invest money back in the farmers and the young people of Nandi Hills. They are building a better community through (good!) tea.
They use natural process and their teas are grown without the use of pesticides.
Nandi Hills Black tea is made from two leaves and a bud, carefully hand-plucked and fully oxidized to create this unique, long leaf black tea. Wonderfully malty and smooth on its own, this tea should be enjoyed without milk and sugar. The liquor tastes of Walnuts, dark chocolate with a trace of smoke. The leaves are suitable for multiple infusion.
