Darjeeling is known as the 'champagne' of tea. This tea is picked in April in the first plucking or 'flush'. It is light in flavour and aroma with a slight astringency and undertones of muscatel, the sweet white grape taste which identifies a quality Darjeeling. Margaret's Hope tea Estate in the heart of Darjeeling is one of the few gardens that regularly produce the elusive muscatel character.

This is an excellent Darjeeling.
*First impressions on opening tea pouch- many green leaves but more light brown ones. Fresh, lasting, fragrant aroma.

"Taste-delicate but strong undertones, fragrant tea.
Summary - Undoubtedly an excellent quality tea. One of my favourites.

A champagne of champagne of teas
Making a good cup of darjeeling is like walking a tight rope. You have to get the measure just right and you have to get the timing exactly right. (For me that's 4 minutes). A little too early and it's almost tasteless, a little too late and it's harsh and bitter.
But the acrobatics are worth the effort. Hit it on the nail and you will get the best tasting tea there is. Bar none. And this Darjeeling is beautiful, fragrant and light. I have converted a number of people to leaf tea with this lethal weapon!
Worth it!
The best Darjeeling tea ever.
The champagne of all Darjeeling tea. My regular everyday tea whether morning or evening. Best drunken with local honey. Not suitable for milk and sugar.
My favourite Darjeeling so far
There are other Darjeelings here, some cheaper, some dearer but this does me very well. So much so that my next bag is a Kilo!
it is indeed the champagne of teas and, if measured out well, brewed correctly and so on produces a most wonderful cup of smooth, light but fully flavoured tea.
This is the tea you convert teabag folk with...
Smooth and tasty
This is a good classic darjeeling which is very smooth.
A reliable Darjeeling
This is a lovely Darjeeling with good muscatel notes. It does not disappoint.
